Romilly Whiteley (soprano)

Romilly started playing saxophone aged 8, and to quote Andy Scott when he met the 10-year-old Romilly, she had a “tenor saxophone nearly down to her ankles and played so musically and with a ‘big’ sound!” Indeed she delights in playing all of the various saxophone sizes, from baritone right up to sopranino. She is also a keen composer and arranger and regularly contributes arrangements for the band. When she’s not being saxy, Romilly enjoys long-distance running; perhaps this stamina is what allows her to power through so many key changes. Having graduated from Cambridge a couple of years ago, Romilly now works in London.

Judith Swinhoe-Standen (alto)

Judith studied music at university but is now establishing herself on the London legal scene. She started the saxophone at the age of 12 and arranges much of the music for Saxual Healing, contributing significantly towards the abundance of key changes in the band's repertoire. In her spare time, Judith enjoys cycling and she recently cycled the length of Britain.

Simon Warder (tenor)

Simon, the newest Saxual Healing recruit, studied physics at university, where he first joined up with the band. He's now a PhD student in London, but finds plenty of time for music in his spare time. Whilst he occasionally dabbles in alto and soprano saxes, Simon's first love (aged 11) was his tenor!

Karys Orman (baritone)

Providing the noisiest basslines you could ever wish for, Karys has been honking away on her bari (named Gary) for 5 years now. She studied music at university, and now works for a music charity based in London. In her spare time she runs a 1920s dixieland band called The Dixie Six (in which she plays clarinet), enjoys baking healthy (and unhealthy) treats, likes skiing and is learning the didgeridoo.

Dave Burgoyne (drums)
